The independent leadership personality for third-year students in the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences

Abstract
This study aimed to identify the independent leadership personality among fourth-year students at the College of Basic Education for Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Al-Mustansiriyah University, for the academic year 2025–2026. The researcher employed the descriptive method to achieve the study objectives. The research sample consisted of (50) fourth-year students from the College of Basic Education, Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Al-Mustansiriyah University, for the same academic year. The findings indicated that the fourth-year students possess leadership and independence traits, as all participants (100% of the sample) achieved levels ranging from very good, good, to moderate. The researcher concluded with several recommendations, emphasizing the importance of benefiting from the components of the independent leadership personality studied by students when designing training programs, academic curricula, and methods for preparing and selecting athletes.
