The use of the plyometric ballistic training method and its effect on developing the special strength and speed of motor response to defensive movements of young handball players
Main Article Content
Abstract
The aim of the research was to identify the preparation of exercises using the ballistic plyometric method to develop the special strength and speed of motor response to defensive movements for young handball players. The researchers used the experimental method for one group with a pre- and post-test, on a sample of young handball players, who are players of Al-Karkh Sports Club for handball for the 2019-2020 sports season, numbering (12) players. The applied method for exercises in this method included (24) training units at a rate of (3) training units per week. The researchers concluded that these exercises in this training method had an effect on developing the special strength and thus its reflection on developing the speed of response to defensive movements for the players, individuals in the research sample. The researchers also recommended building exercises in this method in a scientifically sound manner that is appropriate for the age group that is to be developed by standardizing training loads and using appropriate training methods that are consistent with the purpose of their use.
