Abstract

The aim of the research was to prepare an educational curriculum that includes a special lesson on self-observation to teach the skills of serving and smashing in volleyball to students. The researcher used the experimental method for the experimental and control groups. The research sample was from the second stage in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra from two experimental and control groups, numbering (36) students. Modern methods and means were used to deliver the scientific material to the student in the best possible way, as well as giving the student an opportunity to evaluate himself by self-observation of the performance of skills in volleyball through videos. The researchers concluded that the educational units using self-observation had an effective impact in teaching the skills of serving and smashing in volleyball to the experimental group. As for the recommendations, it was necessary to use the self-observation strategy in the educational curriculum for volleyball for the second stage in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences.
