The effect of the self-review strategy according to the Bigs model on learning free swimming skills and cognitive achievement

Abstract

The aim of the research is to prepare educational units with a self-review strategy to learn the skills of free-swimming for female students, and to identify the level of cognitive achievement of the female students, also to identify the impact of the self-review strategy for learning the skills of free-swimming for female students, as well as to identify the levels of Bigs for third-year students,As for the research hypotheses, they were:


- There are no statistically significant differences between the post tests of the six research groups in the free swimming skill tests.


- There are no statistically significant differences between the post tests of the six research groups in the cognitive achievement test.


The research community was chosen by the intentional method from the third stage students in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences for Girls, which numbered (110) students for the academic year 2018-2019 AD, and the research sample was chosen by random method, which amounted to (50) students divided into (25) students for the control group (25). ) Student of the experimental group


After processing the data statistically, the following conclusions were reached:


- The educational units prepared by the self-review strategy have a positive impact on learning the basic skills of free-swimming.


- The experimental group showed a remarkable development in all tests through the significant differences, which were shown by the results of the post test.


The self-review strategy transformed the students from recipients of information to participants in it.


Based on the conclusions reached by the researchers, they recommend the following:


- Using a review strategy in teaching various games and activities within the curriculum of the faculties of physical education and sports sciences to involve female students in lectures, as well as keeping them away from the traditional atmosphere.
