Abstract
The human being is the focus of progress and development to achieve goals in all areas, and that scientific progress in the field of physical education did not come by accident, but rather by relying on curricula, methods and teaching methods that take into account the effective role of students, and hence the importance of research in employing the constructive learning model in teaching students the subject of swimming to raise the level of Knowledge achievement because of its importance in their scientific and practical lives for the number of qualified teachers who possess a lot of knowledge. The research problem was that most of the teachers and students of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences suffer from a weakness in the cognitive achievement of the subject of swimming, and the reason for this is that most of the methods and methods used in teaching do not give a major role to the students in building knowledge, as well as noticing many misconceptions of the students about the vocabulary. Swimming subject, which causes impairment in cognitive achievement. Therefore, the researchers decided to use the constructive learning model to achieve their research objectives, which are:
1-Preparing educational units using the formative learning model to raise the level of cognitive achievement of swimming for the first stage students.
2-Identifying the effectiveness of the constructive learning model in the cognitive achievement of swimming for the first stage students.
As for the research hypotheses, they are:
1-The educational units using the constructive learning model have a positive effect on the level of cognitive achievement of the swimming subject for first-stage students.
2-There are significant differences between the results of the post test for the research sample and in favor of the post test in the level of cognitive achievement of the swimming subject for the first stage students.
The researchers used the experimental method, and followed the experimental design of the two experimental groups with the post-test. The research sample included the (45) female students of the first stage of morning studies at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences / Basra University for the academic year (2018-2019), who were deliberately chosen from the two divisions (G - I). Then the researchers presented their findings in the cognitive achievement test in the form of a table, then they analyzed and discussed the results of the research sample, reinforcing that with scientific sources, and through that, a number of conclusions were reached, the most important of which are:
1-The educational units using the constructive learning model have a positive effect in raising the level of cognitive achievement of swimming subject for first-stage students.
2-Teaching according to the two constructive learning models helped in forming the positive attitude of the students towards the subject of swimming.
In light of the conclusions, the researchers recommend the following:
1-Adopting the constructive learning model as one of the effective models in teaching swimming within the curricula of the Faculties of Physical Education and Sports Sciences.
2-Holding training courses in which teachers are trained on how to build lesson plans and teaching according to the constructive learning model.
