Using the physical indicator as an evaluation model for selecting handball players in specialized schools (ages 12-14)

Abstract

The world has witnessed in recent times great developments in all fields, including the sports field in various sports, and this is an indication of the great interest of specialists and researchers in developing the training process on an ongoing basis in order to raise the athletic level and achieve achievement. The research problem manifested itself in the scarcity of testing and evaluation tools. It is more representative of the behavior concerned with measurement and is more honest and stable in its results. It can be used in determining the levels of handball players in the specialized schools of the provinces of the Middle Euphrates and predicting what their abilities and potentials will reach in the future, as well as setting standards and evaluation levels for indicators of physical abilities.


The study also aimed to:


1-Examination of the teams at the level of the physical index for the selection of handball players in specialized schools, ages 12-14.


2- Determining standard grades and levels for the physical index for the selection of handball players in specialized schools, ages 12-14.


The researchers used the descriptive approach using the survey method (the current situation), studies of standard equations and studies of interrelationships, while the research community included handball players in specialized schools within the governorates of the Middle Euphrates between (12-14) and the number of the survey sample members was (30) players and the number of the building sample members 90) players and the main application sample is (178) players. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the researchers sought to build test batteries according to scientific principles and steps. Using the statistical bag (spss) with some statistical laws in processing data and extracting results, from which the following conclusions were reached.


1-Devising an ideal method (the personal model) to evaluate the indicators of physical abilities according to the standard levels achieved by the research sample with the aim of (diagnosis, correction, treatment, comparison, guidance, selection, and development).


The researchers also recommended:


      Adopting internationally built batteries as scientific research tools concerned with measuring indicators of physical abilities and preparations for handball players in the specialized schools of the central Euphrates governorates.
