Abstract

The importance of the research is evident as it deals with a problem that determines the movement of the ankle joint resulting from severe sprained joint injuries and finding the best ways to treat it by giving some therapeutic and physical rehabilitation exercises and using fixed contraction exercises within the water in a proposed curriculum that works to develop the strength of the muscles working on the affected joint and the development of the motor range of the joint himself, in order to restore the injured member to its normal activity and return as quickly as possible the injured player to the arena of competition in the basketball game.

The research objectives were:

1- Preparing static muscle contraction exercises in water to rehabilitate the injured ankle joint.

2- Identifying the differences between the results of the pre and post tests of the experimental and control groups in raising the level of kinetic balance among basketball players with severe sprain of the ankle joint.

3- Recognizing the differences in the results of the post-tests between the control and experimental groups in raising the level of kinetic balance among basketball players with severe sprain of the ankle joint.

The research sample included (6) basketball players with severe ankle sprain (complete ligament ligament tear with ankle instability) in the Kurdistan region who underwent surgery in the affected joint.

It was concluded - Static inotropic exercises contributed by increasing the range of motion and the strength of the working muscles of the ankle joint, which made the players return to the field naturally.

As for the recommendations, the most important of them were: Reliance on fixed inotropic exercises to rehabilitate the injured ankle joint of basketball players.
