Building and applying a measure of cognitive achievement in volleyball among fourth-year students in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra

Abstract

The study aimed to build and apply a scale to reveal the level of knowledge among students of the fourth stage in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra for the academic year 2018-2019. It also includes the following areas of research  1- The human field: students of the fourth stage of morning and evening studies at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra for the academic year 2018-2019.


2- The spatial domain: the temporal domain: the study and sports hall in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra for the academic year 2018-2019. 3- Time range: from 10/11/2018 to 1/4/2019. The researcher used the descriptive approach in the survey method to address the research problem and represented the research complex by the students of the fourth stage of the morning and evening studies, totaling (213) students. (85) students were selected for the research sample and divided into three sections Between the initial application sample of the scale for (5) students, (50) for the construction sample, and (30) for the final application sample of the scale The scale was built on the scientific foundations for building and codifying the scales The researcher reached a number of conclusions, including: 1- The scale designed by the researcher is a tool to reveal the cognitive level of students of the fourth stage in the game of volleyball in physical education and sports sciences at the University of Basra for the academic year 2018-2019 The researcher recommended the adoption of the cognitive scale designed as a tool to measure the cognitive level of students of the fourth stage in the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra for the game of volleyball for the academic year 2018-2019.
