A Correlation Study of the Role of Neuromuscular Compatibility in Improving the Accuracy of Receiving Passes in Volleyball Players

Abstract

Abstract: The research aims to uncover the nature of the relationship between neuromuscular compatibility and the accuracy of the performance of the receiving service skill of volleyball players, by describing this skill as one of the main pillars in defensive performance that directly affects the construction of the attack and achieving victory. Skill performance in this game requires a high level of coordination between the nervous and muscular systems, ensuring precise movement and responsiveness to various stimuli during gameplay. The problem with the research is that some players have poor receiving performance, which may be due to deficiencies in neuromuscular compatibility. Therefore, the researcher sought to study the relationship between these two variables among the players of Diyala Club. The researcher adopted the descriptive approach using the relational relationship method, and a sample of (10) players was selected out of (14) players representing the research community for the sports season (2024-2025). Standardized tests were used to measure neuromuscular compatibility and transmission reception accuracy, and then the data were statistically processed using the Spearman correlation coefficient. The results showed a strong significant correlation between neuromuscular compatibility and transmission reception accuracy, suggesting the importance of developing this element in training programs. The research recommends the need to adopt qualitative training to develop motor coordination in a way that contributes to raising the efficiency of the players' skill performance.
