Abstract

The importance of this research lies in raising the physical and skill level of these age groups by using training methods that are enjoyable and motivating, and which create a competitive environment. This contributes to the development of basketball and the building of a generation capable of competing at the highest level. The research problem was: Despite the existence of implemented and targeted exercises, there was a lack of training methods that would enhance physical, motor, and skill levels. It was observed that players did not exert their full effort in executing exercises due to the absence of competitive elements. This prompted the researcher to select training methods that included competitive exercises to increase the players' intrinsic energy during the exercise, within a competitive environment with their teammates. These methods and the movements implemented within them will undoubtedly have an impact on physical, motor, and skill requirements, which is the goal of training and raising the players' level. The researcher hoped to contribute a new approach to addressing the research problem and further its development. The research objectives were: 1- To develop some proposed training methods within a competitive environment to raise the level of motor and skill performance of basketball players aged 9-11 years.2- To identify the impact of using some proposed training methods within a competitive environment on raising the level of motor and skill performance of basketball players aged 9-11 years. The experimental method was used, and the research sample consisted of basketball players aged 9-11 years at the specialized basketball school in Basra Governorate. After implementing the exercises and methods, the most important conclusions were reached: Using training methods within a competitive environment helps develop and improve the motor and skill performance of basketball players aged 9-11 years.
