The Impact of Cooperative Competitive Exercises on Teaching and Developing the Kinematic Variables of Three-Point Basketball Shooting Performance for Students
Main Article Content
Abstract
The importance of this research lies in its integration of two fundamental aspects: the scientific and analytical aspect of movement through kinematic variables, and the applied educational aspect through the use of cooperative competitive exercises. The research presents a training model that enhances the quality of teaching three-point shooting skills to students, while simultaneously creating a stimulating and enjoyable learning environment. Furthermore, the significance lies in the fact that analyzing kinematic variables will allow for a more precise understanding of the mechanics of student performance, providing a scientific database that can be used later in developing curricula or designing more effective training programs. Cooperative competitive exercises represent a modern method that helps students acquire the skill faster and more sustainably, as they are directly linked to motivation and engagement, and create opportunities for repetition within realistic learning situations. This research contributes to enhancing the motor skills education in basketball within academic institutions, providing a model that can be applied and developed by coaches, teachers, and researchers in other fields with similarly complex motor skills. The research problem was: the three-point shooting is a crucial skill in basketball due to its direct impact on a team's offensive results. However, observations of students' learning indicate a clear deficiency in mastering this skill, both in terms of accuracy and the associated motor coordination. The research aimed to identify the impact of cooperative competitive exercises on teaching and developing the kinematic variables of three-point shooting in basketball for students. The researchers used an experimental approach, and the sample consisted of first-year students at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Basra. After implementing the exercises, the most important conclusion was reached: cooperative competitive exercises are important and fundamental in teaching and developing the kinematic variables of three-point shooting in basketball for students. The most important recommendation was to adopt cooperative competitive drills, as they are crucial and fundamental in teaching and developing the kinematic variables involved in three-point shooting in basketball for students
