The Effect of Multi-Ball Training on Developing Anticipation Skills and Decision-Making Speed in Football Goalkeepers
Main Article Content
Abstract
The aim of the research was to design training exercises using multiple balls to develop anticipation skills and decision-making speed in football goalkeepers. The researcher adopted the experimental method with a single experimental group, as it was the most appropriate for addressing the research problem. The research population was selected intentionally and consisted of the goalkeepers of Al-Zawraa Sports Club in football, numbering (6) youth goalkeepers aged (17–20) years. The researcher concluded that the application of multiple-ball training exercises is an effective means of developing anticipation skills and decision-making speed among goalkeepers. These exercises contributed to improving the goalkeeper’s ability to read the ball’s trajectory and respond to rapidly changing situations with speed and effectiveness. The researcher recommends incorporating multiple-ball training exercises into regular training programs for goalkeepers across all age groups to ensure the development of anticipation skills and decision-making speed.
