Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the relationship between the speed of motor response and the skill of defending the court against serves in volleyball among female students. The researcher used the descriptive method on a sample of 20 third-year students from the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Kufa. The results showed no statistically significant correlation between motor response speed and court defense skills, attributed to the fluctuating physical fitness levels of the students. The study recommended the necessity of focusing on training moving defense skills during position-specific training, emphasizing control over the rebound force and speed of the ball to enable the player to manage it effectively
