Self-support and its relationship to psychological toughness among the Al-Nour University sports teams in Nineveh Governorate

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the level of self-advocacy among players of the Al-Noor University sports teams in Nineveh Governorate. The researchers employed a descriptive approach using the correlational studies method due to its suitability for the nature of the research. The original research community for the study consisted of 120 players from the Al-Noor University sports teams in Nineveh Governorate, representing 100%. The study sample included 80 players, representing 66.66%. The researchers used the (Self-Advocacy) scale, prepared by Al-Taie (2024), and the (Psychological Resilience) scale, prepared by Al-Taie (2024). The researchers used the questionnaire as a means of collecting data. Statistics were obtained on the number of players from the Student Activities Division at Al-Noor University in Nineveh Governorate. The researchers concluded that self-advocacy among the players from the Al-Noor University sports teams in Nineveh Governorate is characterized by a high level. Therefore, it was recommended to conduct further studies related to the concept of self-advocacy and psychological resilience among players, and to develop psychological programs for players that enhance the level of self-advocacy and raise the level of psychological resilience among players from clubs in Nineveh Governorate
